Outward Bound Course Achievement

Dear Rodney Green,

I am writing a big heartfelt thank you for your support in helping me get to Outward Bound on the Mind, Body, Soul course. I can’t convey in words how grateful I am to have had this
amazing opportunity. As I start writing this I am sitting watching the view as the sun goes down at my solo site, Day 10 of 21 of the course. I have managed to set up what I think is a
possum proof shelter but only time will tell. As we are nearly halfway through my Outward Bound journey, it is safe to say this is one of the best experiences I have ever had. This
course has allowed me to grow as an individual in ways that I thought I wouldn’t, I have learned many things, had some incredible experiences and made many life-long friends! I
have been able to work with new people who have both lifted me up and tested me.

My favourite saying from the course is “Ma Te Wa” which basically means “all in time” so ‘you’ll have to wait and see’. I like this because we are always living our lives based around
a clock and schedule but here we are enforcing ‘living in the moment’. Without knowing what’s to come in future, we soak up every good moment of being here and enjoy being
present with the people around you.

Between strengths I have seen beauty. I’ve climbed mountains with wicked 360° views, sailed glorious seas amongst dolphins and orca whales, drank from rivers, swam with
stingrays, and slept under the stars. I just never realised how beautiful New Zealand is.

Thank you so much for helping me achieve this amazing opportunity. I am forever grateful!
Kind Regards,
Ruby
